How It Works

How a deer or pronghorn hunt goes

Easy to book, draw strategy handled, on animals from day one.

1

Book & build your tag strategy

Pick a hunt and request dates online — or ask the booking assistant. A coordinator confirms availability and walks you through the draw, preference points, or OTC options for the right unit.

2

Meet your guide

We meet you at camp or the trailhead, get your gear sorted, and cover the plan for the hunt based on where the animals are moving and the weather.

3

Glass & stalk

Your guide glasses big country, judges animals, and sets up the spot-and-stalk — reading the wind and terrain to get you an ethical, makeable shot.

4

Field care & home

When you connect, we handle field dressing, caping, and pack-out, and point you to trusted processors and taxidermists. You head home with meat and memories.

Questions

Mule deer & pronghorn FAQ

Which hunt is right for me — mule deer or pronghorn?
If you're after a mature, heavy-horned buck and don't mind real mountain hunting in high-desert country, book the Trophy Mule Deer hunt. Want a fast, action-packed hunt with lots of stalks and high shot opportunity on easier terrain? Pronghorn on the eastern plains is hard to beat — and it pairs perfectly as an add-on to a deer or elk hunt. Not sure? Ask our 24/7 booking assistant or call us.
Do I need to draw a tag?
For the best mule deer and pronghorn units, yes — they're limited draws. That's exactly where we help: which units to apply for, how Colorado's preference-point system works, and where over-the-counter opportunities exist. Draw deadlines come early in the year, so book and talk strategy with us well ahead of the season you want.
How many hunters per guide?
We keep ratios low — usually one or two hunters per guide so you get real time on the glass and in the stalk. Booking a group? We add guides and camps so everyone hunts well.
How physically demanding are these hunts?
Mule deer hunting in high-desert country is real mountain hunting — early mornings, miles on foot, and rough terrain. Pronghorn on the plains is easier walking with more glassing and stalking. We tailor the daily effort to your fitness and tell you honestly what to expect, but boots you've broken in are a must.
When are the deer and pronghorn seasons?
Archery deer runs early September; rifle deer spreads across the combined seasons from mid-October into November. Pronghorn archery opens mid-August, with rifle seasons in the fall. Our booking assistant can tell you exactly which season fits your tag and weapon.
