Units & Country Questions

Common questions about where we hunt

How far do hunts travel from Colorado Springs?
Much of our elk and deer country is within an hour or two of Colorado Springs — the Pike National Forest units and the Tarryall Range. High-desert mule deer units and the eastern-plains pronghorn country range a bit farther. We'll tell you the meeting point and drive time when you book.
Which unit hunts best, and when?
It depends on the species, the season, and your weapon — that's exactly what we track. September archery is prime for rutting bulls in the timber units; rifle seasons spread the elk and deer across October and November; pronghorn runs the high plains from August into fall. Ask our booking assistant which unit fits your tag.
Are your units draw or over-the-counter (OTC)?
Both. Several of our elk units are still OTC for archery and some rifle seasons — no draw required. Our trophy mule deer and best pronghorn units are limited draws, where we help you build preference points and apply for the right tag. We'll recommend units based on the draw, your weapon, and your experience.
Can you run a multi-species or custom hunt?
Absolutely. We build custom multi-day and multi-species itineraries — an elk hunt with a pronghorn add-on, or a full week with two species on the menu. Tell us what tags you're holding and we'll put together the trip.
